The Lincoln Gap (Stage 1) Wind Farm consisted of 35 Senvion 3.6M140 EBC wind turbine generators situated near Whyalla in South Australia. ARES transported all wind turbine components from 
the Port of Whyalla to site over a period of 24 weeks.

Results

Over 24 weeks and 600 deliveries, ARES moved every component for all 35 Senvion turbines from the Port of Whyalla to the Lincoln Gap (Stage 1) site, with each load engineered around the cargo’s weight, dimensions and route.

 

In doing so, ARES became the first to bring wind cargo through the bulk-handling Port of Whyalla, moved 140-tonne nacelles up a 20% gradient escarpment using purpose-selected heavy haulage equipment, and drew on trusted subcontractors JCS and CBCH to keep loads moving while running three Senvion projects at once, helping to fuel South Australia’s renewable energy revolution.
